The 2011 US Bowling Congress Championship will not be held in Wichita. The USBC announced today that Orlando, Florida will host the event.
Jack Mordini, the USBC's chief officer of membership products and services, confirmed today that the group has accepted a bid from the Central Florida Sports Commission to take the event to Orlando.
The USBC made the decision after final bid presentations were given in Milwaukee on November 30 by the bidding cities of Wichita, Corpus Christi, Texas; Orlando, Fla.; Reno, Nev.; and Tulsa, Okla.
The USBC Open Championships would have had an economic impact of $75 million to $100 million on the Wichita economy.
